🤝 Collaboration Cafés

The GeoJupyter community hosts virtual “Collaboration Café” events based on the concept defined by The Turing Way community.

When is it and how can I join?

These are usually held every two weeks but the timing may change; you can always find the time and all information needed to join on our community calendar!

What is it?

We initially called these events “Hackathons”, but we wanted to convey with the name this this event is not just for coding. We invite you to join us for two hours of collaboration on the tough problems you’re interested in, whether they’re technical, design, ideation, or whatever!

Bring your awesome ideas and your awesome personality :)

If you’re new to the community, we are thrilled to support you in your onboarding journey! While we aim to, we can’t always offer support for onboarding during Collaboration Cafés.

If you’d like guaranteed onboarding support, please join a separate Onboarding Hour meeting, listed on the community calendar!

How does it work?

We all join a call together, and first we talk about what we want to work on. We identify potential collaborations, split in to breakout rooms, and work together! Halfway through, we take a break. At the end, we share our celebrations, reflections, and lessons learned from our time together.
